Sports Massage

For prevention and treatment of injuries

Massage in sport has been around for centuries. The ancient Greeks elite athletes received massage as part of their training routines before and after competition. Today Sports massage is a familiar component in the training routines of Olympic and pro athletes, as well as in health clubs and sporting events. It helps athletes prepare for and recover from competition, helps to reduce the risk of injuries and also helps an athlete to recover from an injury.

Some of the benefits of sports massages are:

  • Improve body fluid circulation.

  • Muscular relaxation.

  • General relaxation.

  • Break down of adhesions.

  • Increase mental alertness

  • Increasing energy levels.

  • Increasing flexibility and range of movement in relation to muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.

  • Faster post event recovery.

  • Pain reduction.
